Use Instructions
How Do I Use Or Apply Emla™?
Before applying Emla™, clean and dry the skin. Squeeze and apply a thick layer of the cream on the small areas of the treatment. For needle procedures, it is about 2g or half a 5g tube. Instead of spreading or rubbing it on the skin, maintain the thick layer of the Emla™ cream and cover it with an air-tight dressing. If you use a plastic wrap, secure the edges with an adhesive or a medical tape to avoid leakage. Leave the site of treatment for at least one hour and allow the cream to penetrate the skin thoroughly. Remove the dressing and wipe off any excess solution thoroughly before the procedure.
When Should I Use IT?
Use the cream before proceed with any minor cosmetic or medical procedures. Apply at least one hour before performing any injections or procedures with needle sticks. For other minor skin procedures such as skin grafting, apply the cream two hours before. This temporarily numbs the sensation of pain on the skin and makes the patient more comfortable. You may allow the patient to apply it on their own under strict supervision.
What Areas Can I Treat With This Product?
Apply the cream on the site of injection without spreading it to other areas. Use only on healthy, normal and unbroken skin to avoid the risk of serious adverse events. Allow it to penetrate the skin gradually.
How Long Do Results Last?
The numbing effect may last for two hours, with a maximum stretch of five hours. The intensity may increase after removing the patch. Patients may feel slight pressure in the intended area, but the main treatment should be less discomforting.
How Long Does The Treatment Take?
Allocate one to two hours for the cream to fully penetrate through the skin and initiate the numbness. Perform the main treatment while the numbness is still in effect.
