INFORMATION
Indications for Use
HYACORP FACE® is a high-purity, absorbable skin implant used for facial volume restoration and contouring. It is designed to replace lost hyaluronic acid in the skin, contributing to volume replacement, particularly in areas such as medium to deep wrinkles, nasolabial folds, the cheek area, and the glabella folds.
- Primary indications:
- Volume replacement for wrinkles.
- Enhancement of facial contours.
- Restoration of lost anatomical structures due to aging or other factors.
It should not be injected into the periorbital region (around the eyes), including areas like the eyelids, crow’s feet, or dark circles.
HYACORP FACE® is delivered in a 1 ml syringe with a Luer Lock connection. The injectable solution contains cross-linked hyaluronic acid obtained through fermentation.
- Composition per 1 ml:
- 2.0 mg of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid.
- 20.0 mg of cross-linked hyaluronic acid.
- 6.9 mg of sodium chloride.
- Sterile water for injection.
The product is injected into the middle dermal layer, where it supplements the intercellular matrix, restoring volume and enhancing skin elasticity. The depth of injection and the area treated will determine the duration and intensity of the effects, which typically last for several months, depending on factors such as skin type and the desired changes.
Side Effects and Precautions
While HYACORP FACE® is considered a safe and effective treatment, there are some side effects and risks, particularly related to injection techniques.
- Common side effects:
- Redness, swelling, itching, and bruising at the injection site.
- Hematomas or subcutaneous bleeding.
- Temporary hardening or sensitivity around the treated area.
- Serious but rare side effects:
- Infection: Particularly if the product is injected without following proper sterilization techniques.
- Biofilm formation and delayed reactions such as chronic inflammation or granulomas (small areas of inflammation).
- Tyndall effect: A bluish discoloration caused by improper injection depth.
Contraindications:
- Do not use in patients with autoimmune diseases, active skin infections, or inflammatory processes.
- Anticoagulant therapy patients should avoid injections as they may experience prolonged bleeding or bruising.
- Not recommended for individuals with multiple allergies or known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid.
- Clinical data on the use in pregnant or breastfeeding women and adolescents under 18 is not available, so treatment in these groups is discouraged.
Clinical Studies and Outcomes
HYACORP FACE® has been widely used for its rejuvenating effects on facial volume and contour. The results vary depending on the depth of the injection and patient skin type, but typical outcomes include:
- Wrinkle reduction: Significant improvements in the appearance of medium to deep wrinkles after a few sessions.
- Volume restoration: Noticeable improvement in areas that have lost volume, such as the cheeks and nasolabial folds.
- Duration of effects: The filler is gradually metabolized by the body, and its effects can last from 6 to 12 months, depending on factors such as injection technique and individual patient metabolism.
Patients report enhanced skin elasticity and hydration, alongside improved facial contours. After initial treatments, periodic maintenance injections are often required to sustain these benefits.
Drug Interactions
There are no known significant systemic drug interactions with HYACORP FACE®, but the following precautions should be noted:
- Avoid combining with other dermal fillers in the same treatment area to prevent adverse reactions or overcorrection.
- Patients taking anticoagulants or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may experience increased bruising and should discuss this with their physician before treatment.
- Infection risk increases when HYACORP FACE® is used in combination with other skin treatments such as chemical peels or laser therapy soon after injection.
Special Considerations
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: There is insufficient clinical data to determine the safety of HYACORP FACE® during pregnancy or lactation. As a precaution, treatment should be avoided in these groups.
- Geriatric use: Older individuals may require more frequent treatments to maintain desired results, as skin elasticity tends to decrease with age.
- Pediatric use: HYACORP FACE® is not recommended for use in patients under 18 years of age due to a lack of clinical data.
Warnings and Instructions
The success of treatment with HYACORP FACE® depends largely on the skill and knowledge of the physician performing the procedure. Proper training in injection techniques is crucial for minimizing risks and achieving optimal results.
- Do not inject into blood vessels: This can lead to vascular occlusion, potentially causing severe complications like tissue necrosis.
- Sterility: The product should be administered in a sterile environment to prevent infection.
- Overcorrection should be avoided: The goal is to correct 100% of the volume loss without creating an unnatural appearance.
Storage instructions:
- Store the product at room temperature (2 °C – 25 °C) and protect it from extreme temperatures or freezing.
Packaging: Each syringe contains 1 ml of HYACORP FACE® and comes with 2 sterile needles for single use. The syringe should not be reused, and any unused product must be discarded.
