PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT is a temporary dermal filler made of cross-linked hyaluronic acid. This hyaluronic acid is produced using E-brid® technology, which is a process that helps form covalent bonds within and between particles of hyaluronic acid, resulting in a cross-linked structure. This injectable filler hydrates and adds volume to skin, helping to retouch and alter the results of other cosmetic treatments, such as botulinum toxin injections and chemical peels. The different PERFECTHA® products contain different sizes of hyaluronic acid particles, giving them different volume-filling abilities and viscosities, and PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT contains small particles at a concentration of 180,000 gel particles/ml for subtle volume.
Doctors, such as plastic surgeons and dermatologists, use PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT to add volume within the skin. Patients may not always get the results they desire from botulinum toxin injections or chemical peels, and the results may not last, so doctors use PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT to touch up the results and give their patients the look they want. This dermal filler adds small amounts of volume to the skin, so it offers just the right amount of filling ability to make small adjustments.
Hyaluronic acid binds moisture within the skin, restoring volume and supporting the skin to smooth the look of wrinkles. The hyaluronic acid in PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT is cross-linked, helping it to plump and hydrate skin while lasting longer than the hyaluronic acid found naturally in the skin. This hyaluronic acid then breaks down gradually and absorbs into your patient’s body, leaving no trace.
PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT lasts for about four to six months, so your patients should return a couple to a few times a year to touch up their results. Only trained medical personnel should inject PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT. Inject PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT subcutaneously into the wrinkle or other area you would like to correct, adjusting the volume to suit your patient’s needs for the results they desire. For complete instructions on how to use PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT, refer to your product leaflet.
Similar to other hyaluronic acid dermal filler injections, PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT can cause side effects like pain, itching, erythema (redness), swelling, tenderness, and discoloration at the treatment site. Your patient may also experience increased sensitivity for a day or two, but this should resolve on its own. If you inject PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT into your patient’s lips, which is a more sensitive area, swelling and tenderness may last a little longer. These may not be all the possible side effects of PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT.
You should not treat patients with PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT who are hypersensitive or intolerant to hyaluronic acid or any ingredient in this dermal filler. You should also not treat patients with PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT who suffer from severe allergic reactions or severe inflammatory reactions.
You do not need to perform a skin test before treating your patient with PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT. The hyaluronic acid in this dermal filler is made from fermentation of biotechnologically-modified bacteria, making it non-animal in origin. The cross-linking technology used to make PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT also results in undetectable levels of BDDE, used as a cross-linking agent.
Store PERFECTHA® COMPLEMENT away from light and extreme temperatures. Keep this dermal filler between two and thirty degrees Celsius.
